In order to give you the widest possible range of resources to help engage students and better communicate the material, we have assembled an unparalleled collection of media resources. The Eighth Edition of Life features an expanded Instructor's Media Library (available on a set of CDs and DVDs) that includes:
Textbook Figures & Tables: Every image from the textbook is provided in both JPEG (high- and low-res) and PDF formats.
Figures
with Editable Labels and Unlabeled:
All textbook figures are provided in multiple
formats, including an unlabeled version and
a version that allows all labels to be edited
in PowerPoint.
Supplemental
Photo Collection: This collection
of over 1,500 additional photos provides you
with a rich library of visual imagery to accompany
your lectures. These can be useful both for
showing further examples of topics covered in
the textbook and for showing additional topics
not depicted in the textbook. Photos are organized
by book chapter and are provided as both JPEG
files and PowerPoint slides.
Animations: A collection of over 100 detailed animations clearly explain many of the complex processes of biology. The student version of each animation includes an introduction, an animation, a conclusion, and a short quiz. The instructor version presents the animation by itself, for use in lecture.
Seeing
Life: Video Sequences in Biology: Over
200 video segments help your students experience
the extraordinary structures, processes, and
concepts of biology. These videos have all been
selected to accompany Life 8e and show
primary footage of organisms, structures, and
processes. They help you bring biology to life
for your students and let you show real-world
examples of many of the topics covered in the
textbook. All videos are provided both as stand-alone
videos (MPEG files) and in PowerPoint slides.
PowerPoint Resources: For each chapter of the textbook, we have created several different types of PowerPoint presentations. These give instructors the flexibility to build a presentation in the manner that best suits their needs. Included are:
