National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
The NIMH, a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is dedicated to educational and research acitivities in areas such as: Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Schizophrenia. National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems. NIAAA is one of 18 institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the principal biomedical research agency of the Federal Government. National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders
The National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Institute was established in 1988 with a focus on biomedical and behavioral research in human communication. The Institute supports and conducts research on the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech and language. This is the home page of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NSF motto says their mission is "fostering science and engineering research and education." The site contains links to information for specific program areas such as biology, computer & information sciences, education, and social and behavioral sciences. There are also links to grants & awards materials, new funding opportunities, news highlights, public information, and educational resources. Charles A. Dana Foundation
The Charles A. Dana foundation is "a private philanthropic foundation with grant programs in health and education and operating programs of awards and public affairs." The Dana Alliance, a nonprofit organization of more than 170 neuroscientists, was formed to help provide information about the personal and public benefits of brain research. Publications of interest to neuroscientists as well as current news items are available at this site.
